Title: Dinner Date
Pairing:Ryokura, but could be read as friendship
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Ryo comes home after a log day to see that Ohkura had cooked him dinner. Oh dear...
Well this is my first post to this community. I'm glad that I'm not just leeching away, but now actually contributed to the fandom. Enjoy. :D
As much as one Ohkura Tadayoshi loved to eat food, he was also rubbish at cooking it. there were enough witnessed and televised instances of his lack of culinary prowess, but Ryo was still amazed at just how clumsy he was in the kitchen. Taking note of the water spilled on the floor, the sludge-like substance which coated the top of the cooker, the discoloured kitchen towel wrapped tightly around Ohkura's clenched fist and the graveyard of discarded ingredients on his once immaculate counter-tops, Ryo was caught between fainting, laughing hysterically and strangling Ohkura. Fainting was immediately ruled out-as it was both unmanly and unsexy- leaving Ryo to go about with a starnge hybrid of the remaining options.
'Ryo-chan, what's wrong? Are you ill?' Ohkura asked as he fended off Ryo's flailing arms. The task was easy enough as Ryo was shaking with what could be a moderate seizure.
'What the hell did you do to my kitchen?!' Ryo finally got a hold of himself and delivered a hard slap to the back of Ohkura's head. Once again he surveyed his kitchen, spreading his arms pointedly, and did NOT whimper.
'Oh...well, it was sort of difficult to begin with, but in the end I got the hang of it.' Ohkura looked almost adorable the way he was grinning, obviously proud of himself. Thus Ryo forced himself to try to relax. Sighing mournfully, he ground out a thanks, Ohkura beaming back at him. 'Yosh! I'll go shower and then we can eat!'
As he rushed off to shower, Ryo chanced a glance at his "dinner". He was quite sure that whatever Ohkura had made shouldn't be that colour at all. Or that texture. At that moment he felt strongly tempted to throw some of it away and claim that he was too starved to wait, but he figured that he would be found out in the end. Besides, it would give him a chance to test out his award-deserving acting skills as he pretended to enjoy whatever was congealing in the pot. That would be the manly thing to do he decided. Feeling morbidly curious at what awaited him, he dipped a small spoon in and tasted the concoction.
It wasn't as bad as it looked he supposed. Somewhere in the chaos of the kitchen he had managed to get something half-right. About time too. Ryo did not miss the irony of the son of a family with a successful yaki-tori franchise, who constantly ate out, who had a boyfriend who was quite wonderful in the kitchen, thank you very much, was so bad in front of a cooker to begin with. But at least they wouldn't get food poisoning, although knowing Ohkura's stomach, it would probably just be Ryo.
Though he was somewhat disappointed that he wouldn't be able to wow himself with his own acting skill.
This ficlet was inspired by clips from Honjani and Janiben, where Tacchon's lack of cooking prowess is revealed and mocked <3
Well this was written while I was waiting for my Maths class to begin. I don't know why but inspiration flooded me today, and I wrote some drabbles too.
