Has been looking for translations for Yoko's 413man apparently there's no English translation around (i think?). So i found a Chinese translation of it here and translated that to English. This is also my first translation of all time! (^^)v Yoroshiku. :)
It's really nice and sweet of Yoko to talk about (or rather, to) his grandpa like this. It's so nice and so touching, I teared a bit while listening to it after understanding the lyrics.
Here goes. :)
What would you wish for if you could? It was said in the Anime on TV
Everyone has thought of this before right? So I shall think about it too.
Become a rich person? Have a cute girlfriend?
ギャルの✪✪✪✪ もらってみる？ 願い事を１００コにしてもらう？
To get a Gyaru’s(1) ****(2)? Or do you want to wish for 100 more wishes?
Eventually I couldn’t come to a conclusion and that thought ended just like that.
As an adult now, I thought of this question again.
The first thing which came to my mind was to say ‘Thank You’ to my grandpa in Heaven.
What would it be like if we were to meet now?
Will Grandpa recognize me who is now grown up?
Although I’m not sure whether I could express myself properly, but I shall try singing it.
If I couldn’t sing it properly, I inherited from grandpa.
I’ve always slept with grandpa and grandma at a 6 square feet room, in a ‘kawa’ shape (3)
Always played during the vacations
Caught insects with grandpa regularly, he’s known for it you know.
そんなあなたがある日 今日は行けない ごめんなっ言った
Suddenly you told me one day “We can’t go today, sorry”
I could still remember the sadness on your face.
Then I realized that your heart isn’t functioning as well as before
You didn’t let me see you pain, How I wish you could tell me.
Grandpa who came back from the hospital had a device in his heart.
When I asked you “Did it hurt?” you gave me a nonchalant smile.
“Grandpa became superman!” You said.
‘Superman’ in my heart means my grandpa.
Did I become more like you?
I have an important partner now too.
‘Superman’ Can I be like that too?
Can I smile like you?
Even I’m now myself; there are people who support me.
On the day of farewell, the adults were all smiling.
I didn’t understand that we should bid you farewell with a smile.
I threw my temper and said “What’s there to smile about?”
But my angrier mother scolded me and said “What are you doing?”
Sorry Grandpa, I was still so childish even at the end!
Grandpa I want to try to tell you one more time
Thank you for cooking for me
Thank you for appearing in my dreams on the night of my 20th birthday
Thank you for teaching me so much about gentleness
And I will always say it.
ずっと ずっと ずっと
Always. Always. Always.
(1) The definition of Gyarus here
(2) Maybe it's just me, I think the stars mean 'Pantsu' which is underwear, according to what I heard in the song
(3) The kanji of 'kawa' is 川. This probably meant that Yoko, his grandma and grandpa slept all beside each other.
I do not own the song, nor do I own the Chinese translation. but you can use this translation anywhere, it's okay to me. :)
Hope you enjoyed it! Any comments or suggestions or criticisms welcome! ^^
* well honestly I don't really get what the chorus was talking about, can someone enlighten me about it..? m(_ _)m
